New ‘Millionaire for Life’ Game to Launch
Top Prize Carries $18 Million Cash Option; ‘Cash 4 Life’ Game Will Be Retired
TRENTON (January 21, 2026) –The New Jersey Lottery, in collaboration with 31 other states and Washington D.C., has announced the soon-to-launch new daily draw game, “Millionaire for Life,” beginning Sunday, Feb. 22. The game offers players the chance to win a grand prize of $1 million a year for life as well as chances to win numerous secondary prizes.
The game will replace “Cash 4 Life,” in which New Jersey participated with eight other states, and “Lucky for Life,” in which 20 states and Washington D.C. participated.
The final Cash 4 Life drawing is Feb. 21. Currently, advance multi-draw tickets are available in blocks of 28, 21, 14, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 or 1. For advance draws during the next month, players and retailers should note the following dates:
- Jan. 25 is the last day “Cash 4 Life” players can purchase the ticket maximum of 28 plays.
- From Jan. 26 through Feb. 1, the maximum advance draws will be 21. The maximum will decrease weekly by a factor of 7 until Feb. 15, when the maximum will decline daily by a factor of 1 until the final draw Feb. 21.
- Feb. 22 will be the first “Millionaire for Life” drawing and the first day players can purchase tickets.
With more states participating in a single game, players can expect bigger prizes. The draw game, priced at $5 per play, will offer nine ways to win. The top two prizes carry cash values of $18 million and $2.2 million. The seven tiers of secondary prizes range from $8 to $7,500. New Jersey players should note that the new game’s prizes are a significant improvement from the “Cash 4 Life” game, which had cash values for the top prizes of $7 million and $1 million. The seven secondary prizes ranged from $2 to $2,500.
Drawings will be daily. Ticket sales close at 10:15 pm Eastern Time, with drawings held after 11:15 p.m. There will be 58 regular balls and five bonus balls in the drawing. The overall odds are 1 in 8.47 to win any prize:
- Match 5 + Bonus Ball: $1 million a year for life or a cash option of $18 million.
